Since 2000, the South Saskatchewan First Responder Conference Committee has hosted an annual First Responder Development Weekend. This event provides Volunteer Medical First Responders, as well as EMS and Fire professionals, from across Saskatchewan with opportunities to maintain their required training, enhance existing skills, and gain new knowledge that can be applied in a wide range of emergency situations.

Volunteer First Responders are dedicated members of their communities who freely give their time and expertise to help others during emergencies. They respond to incidents such as pipeline accidents, downed power lines, motor vehicle collisions, medical emergencies, fire standbys, and community special events. No matter the situation, they are ready to respond—without compensation and often at personal expense.

As the first line of assistance in a crisis, First Responders are typically on scene within minutes of receiving a call, often arriving well before ambulance services. They provide critical care and support to their friends, neighbours, and fellow community members until additional emergency resources arrive.

These volunteers rely heavily on the generosity of their communities and local fundraising efforts to sustain their programs. The Saskatchewan Health Authority provides valuable support through continuing education, disposable medical supplies, and cooperative purchasing programs. However, Volunteer Medical First Responders are not paid for their service and frequently incur personal costs, including fuel, vehicle expenses, and time away from work. Corporate sponsorship is essential to ensuring these vital community services continue to thrive.

To help offset the costs of hosting the annual Development Weekend and reduce the financial burden on volunteer First Responder groups, we are seeking corporate sponsorship from organizations that value community safety and emergency preparedness.

We have developed several sponsorship opportunities to accommodate a variety of contribution levels. Each sponsorship package includes recognition and promotional opportunities designed to showcase your organization and demonstrate your commitment to supporting Saskatchewan’s volunteer emergency responders.

We also welcome vendors to participate in our trade show. This provides an excellent opportunity to connect directly with volunteer first responders from communities across the province, introduce new products and services, and build lasting relationships within the emergency response community.
